"Why don't they teach this stuff in school?"

...is the most common question asked when someone realizes the connection between starting early and building generational wealth.

It's a valid question that sadly has no valid answer. Because the truth is that every young person in America has a legitimate opportunity to create a financial legacy that will fund a healthy retirement, regardless of who they are, where they're from, or whether their family is rich or poor.

But you'll need to know how. And if they don't teach it in school, you need to get the information somewhere else.

If you're looking for a mantra or new philosophy to change your outlook on life or become one with the universe, you should probably find a different book. But if you want a guide to prove why you should, and how you can, start a plan that will allow you to write your own retirement story, you need to check out Retirement for Young People.

Kyla R, California

"Retirement for Young People is a great read and breaks down topics in a very easy to understand way. Having personally benefited from Tom's advice earlier in my career, the information has ensured I'm set up for success when I retire!"

Caleb M, Utah

"Retirement for Young People helped me understand two critical things. The first being the need to start planning for retirement early and the second was clear instructions on how to open my Roth IRA. I'm more prepared for the rest of my life thanks to the guidance of this book. I only wish I had gotten my hands on it earlier than 23 years-old so I could've made more money for my future self!"

Sara and James W, Indiana

"As young adults in our 20s, both coming from poverty-stricken backgrounds, we found Tom's advice empowering. In a world where it's hard for the little guys to get ahead, he showed us how to do just that! Our single-income family of 8 has used these tools to break the generational cycle of poverty. Our children are forever blessed by the knowledge we can now share with them. Tom, thank you times 8 for sharing your wealth of knowledge and producing a guide we can share with our extended family!"

Tom Wambaugh

Tom is a husband, dad, and lifelong retirement enthusiast. Willing to step away from a thrilling fast-food career, he entered the professional world of banking after finally making it out of the 12th grade (late).

Thirty years later, he's still doing the professional banker thing. Now he wrote a book about how to stop doing that when he's tired of it. You should read the book so that you can also stop doing your professional thing someday, if and when you want to.

When he retires, Tom and his wife will continue to pursue their passions of traveling the world and photographing those trips. Because this website allows for more space than Tom has content to fill, he's decided to add some of his favorite travel photographs. Enjoy (or don't- you really don't have to look at his pictures).
